Our Technology

Optomap Retinal Imaging

Optomap ultra wide field imaging painlessly assists in early protection from vision impairment or blindness and early detection of life-threatening diseases like cancer, diabetes, stroke and cardiovascular disease more effectively and efficiently than with traditional eye exams.

While eye exams generally include a look at the front of the eye to evaluate health and prescription changes, a thorough screening of the retina is critical to verify that your eye is healthy. This can lead to early detection of common diseases, such as glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, and even cancer. The exam is quick, painless, and may not require dilation drops.

The optomap retinal exam is an important first step in every comprehensive examination.  The optomap is the only technology that provides an ultra-widefield view of the retina.  By combining your doctor’s expertise and the optomap wide-view images, you and your doctor can make informed decisions about your eye health and overall wellness.

Automated Refraction System

When you visit your eye care professional for a new prescription, you want to be confident that the results from your eye test are accurate. If you have myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), astigmatism, or presbyopia, an eye test will determine your percentage of refractive error. This ensures that your glasses or contact lenses will be produced correctly to provide you with clearest vision.

The Nidek RT-5100 is an integrated digital refraction system with the capability of allowing the doctors to make an immediate comparison between your old prescription and your new prescription. The end result is a very precise diagnosis of your vision. The refraction process is completed quickly and the results of your testing are downloaded automatically into our secure electronic medical record.

Examinations

Wellness Eye Examinations

Our doctors make every effort to preserve your eye health and that includes a recommendation for a thorough yearly eye exam. Annual eye examinations are important in detecting health issues or changes in prescription. All our annual exams include a digital health evaluation and a prescription for glasses.

Contact Lens Examinations

We fit patients in contact lenses that are the healthiest option and most suitable for your lifestyle. Our doctors aim to find a lens that is not only comfortable and healthy, but also provides the best clarity. We evaluate contact lenses for nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and/or presbyopia. We can also fit some cases of GP (gas permeable lenses).
